Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance that has the potential to cause serious ill-health to anyone who disturbs it. This Asbestos Awareness course ensures you have a good basic knowledge and understanding of the dangers associated with asbestos fibres. It will make you aware of how to avoid risks and what correct health and safety procedures you should follow.

It is now illegal to use asbestos in the construction and refurbishment of buildings. However, in the past asbestos cement products were widely used in the building industry. As a result, asbestos is still present in buildings that were built or refurbished before 2000.

Back Injury Prevention

In the workplace, there are a number of ways we put our back at risk of injury every day, most of which are preventable. Whether you’re an employee who sits at a desk in an office setting, or you manage a team of employees who regularly lift and move packages in a warehouse, back injury prevention is important.

Silica Awareness

Silica exposure remains a serious threat to nearly 2 million U.S. workers, including more than 100,000 workers in high risk jobs such as abrasive blasting, foundry work, stonecutting, rock drilling, quarry work and tunneling.

The seriousness of the health hazards associated with silica exposure is demonstrated by the fatalities and disabling illnesses that continue to occur in sandblasters and rock drillers. Crystalline silica has been classified as a human lung carcinogen.

Emergency First Aid

We provide hands-on training using a step-by-step method of learning which improves the learners retention of skills and improves their confidence level and their ability to respond in an actual emergency. Hot Work Permits

According to OSHA, hot work is defined as any work that involves burning, welding, using fire- or spark-producing tools, or that produces a source of ignition. Because of the potential dangers associated with hot work, it is critical everyone involved understands their role in keeping themselves and others around them safe from harm.

This program is designed to guide employees directly involved in hot work operations through the hot work process, helping to prevent injuries and damage to facilities. Specifically, it covers the basics of hot work, how to prepare for and protect yourself and others during hot work operations, and what to do after the job is complete.

Electrical Safety

This program is intended as an overview of basic electrical safety for individuals with limited electrical training who as a part of their work, may be potentially exposed to electrical hazards. This is an awareness level course for “unqualified persons” as defined by OSHA. Electricity is essential to modern life, both at home and on the job. Some employees work with electricity directly like electricians, electronic workers, and power line workers. Many of us work around electricity but are not qualified to directly handle electrical components, or in other words, not allowed to be potentially exposed to live electrical parts.

Forklift Operator

Safe operation is critical for any business with employees who use forklifts or other powered industrial trucks. Accidents are a constant – and very real – threat.

To help reduce the risk of accidents, OSHA’s Powered Industrial Trucks Standard 29 CFR 1910.178 requires operators to receive the following forklift training:

Formal instruction (e.g. forklift training video, discussion, lecture, written materials, etc.)
Practical training (demonstrations and practical exercises)
Evaluation of the operator’s performance in the workplace

Forklift: Train the Trainer

This training program is for companies trying to coach their manpower. It gives you the freedom to choose a worker (who must have certification) of your choice. This worker then is trained on how to certify fellow forklift operators at the job.

You can also choose to carry out the training at your facility or at the site of the training school. Moreover, such a training program offers you the flexibility to design the training course according to your requirements.

There is also emphasis placed on the importance of machine and repair.

Office Safety

Office safety training is a process that aims to provide your workforce with knowledge and skills to perform their work in a way that is safe for them and their co-workers.

In addition, an effective workplace safety plan includes instructions and guidelines to identify hazards, report them, and deal with incidents.

Preventing Slips, Trip & Falls

The objectives of this program are to highlight the major hazard areas associated with slips, trips and fall incidents and by so doing, increase awareness of the standards for worker responsibility in observing and being active in daily safety procedures.

This programs looks at all the key hazards associated with slips, trips and falls.

Confined Space Safety

This training course reviews the basic requirements of OSHA, for entering permit required confined spaces. Entering a confined space can be one of the most hazardous tasks undertaken if the proper safe procedures are not implemented correctly. This course will increase your knowledge of the hazards associated with entering confined spaces. Also, specific control techniques and the basic pre-entry procedures to safely perform work will be reviewed.

Scaffold Safety

The course will provide knowledge of legal obligations contained within national & international standards for provision and use of scaffolding, the correct terminology and components, and the construction standards required to ensure safe places of work. The course will also provide inspection techniques and the recording procedures necessary to comply with the statutory provisions. The aim of this scaffolding training is to provide the participants both theoretical and practical knowledge to enable them to erect, inspect, use and dismantle scaffolds, using standard scaffolding guidelines.

Overhead Crane - General Industry

This course will look at some of the basics of good overhead crane operation, maintenance and management principles.

Overhead cranes are found everywhere in modern industry and construction. They are so common that they almost fall into the background of daily workplace activity and this can lead to complacency by everyone involved. Yet every year serious accidents occur.

Fall Protection User

Course covers the basics of fall protection. Focuses on the proper use of personal fall arrest systems in order to perform work in elevated areas.

Course will cover fall prevention, fall restraint, fall protection, and fall arrest.

Fall Protection Competent Person

This course includes in-class lectures including slides and video and hands-on scenarios applying theory discussed to practical workplace situations. This Competent Person training is a pass/fail program incorporating both written and practical examinations. Attendees will learn practical solutions to difficult fall protection problems using appropriate tools and equipment.

Fall Protection Equipment Inspection

This is a comprehensive inspection course which after completion will allow those responsible for the inspection of fall protection equipment to make educated decisions on whether the equipment can remain in service or should be removed from service.

The training will also include standards and regulations, incorporating what they require and how they relate to the inspection process.

Fire Safety

Fire Safety training is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards in the workplace and how to act safely in the event of an emergency fire situation, including selecting and using the correct fire extinguisher. With proper training, workers can eliminate fire hazards and respond quickly and efficiently if a fire breaks out. It is also designed to train staff in fire safety procedures which they can apply specifically to your fire safety policies.

Lockout / Tag out

This training course will review the requirements of the Lockout/Tagout regulation under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147. This program will also cover the various types of active and stored energy sources and the controls necessary for employee protection. The various categories of tasks and activities requiring energy isolation will be reviewed including typical lockout procedures, equipment and devices used as well as an understanding of employee lockout and verification responsibilities.

Ladder Safety

This course provides a practical introduction to working safety with ladders (step, extension, and fixed ladders). The course focuses on the duties of the employee when using a ladder – inspection before use, proper set up of ladder, and how to work safely while on the ladder.

Through this, your workers can easily learn about the different chemicals that present physical hazards and pose environmental risks - hazard signs they’ll need to know in order to safely handle chemicals in the workplace.

Aerial and scissor lifts play an important role in construction and many other industries. These versatile lifts come in several types with various applications and operating hazards. This course will teach you how to maximize worksite safety while working on or around aerial and scissor lifts.

Personal Protective Equipment

The proper use of PPE is essential in the workplace to minimize the risk of injury and illness. The number of injuries in the workplace that could have been prevented by the proper use of personal protective equipment is staggering. This course will provide an overview of common types of personal protective equipment (PPE) that are used in industry such as hand, face and eye, foot and leg, torso, hand and arm, hearing and respiratory protection.
